Server Crashes when Calendar Messages Are Processed by POP3

Technote Number: 1154553

Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus software Quality Engineering and has been
addressed in Notes/Domino releases 6.0.4 and 6.5.2.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.4 and 6.5.2 MR fix lists
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/):

Calendaring & Scheduling
SPR# NBRR5ST5WF - Fixed a memory overwrite when retrieving a meeting invite
which includes a description greater than 80 chars from IMAP.

The crash is occurring as the calendar invitation is converted from Notes Rich
Text to MIME format for viewing by the POP3 client.

Workaround: Use an R5 server for POP3 mail (since the crash is not an issue on
R5), or delete the problem message from the mail file, or switch users for whom
this issue occurs to the Notes Client.
